Add sources

Every way to add Knowledge, including files, text, editor, and Open Library.

Knowledge is the library you author for this Space. It is not limited to drag-and-drop uploads — Spaces gives you several ways to add material for retrieval.

File upload

Drag and drop files onto the upload area, or use Add sources. Supported formats:

  • PDF
  • Word (.doc, .docx)
  • Excel (.xls, .xlsx)
  • PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)
  • Markdown (.md)
  • Plain text (.txt)

Maximum file size: 50MB per file.

Paste or type text

Use Add text source to paste or type content directly — useful for notes, transcripts, or snippets without creating a file.

Built-in editor

Create a document inside Spaces with the built-in editor. Write notes or short references that become part of your Knowledge.

Open Library (optional)

When enabled for your Space, Open Library lets you browse public-domain books from Project Gutenberg and add them to your Knowledge. Answers can then quote, summarise, and cite them alongside your own documents.

How org-level Knowledge connects to My Spaces through General knowledge.
