Chat modes
Deep search and Adaptive, and when to use each.
Open the chat actions menu to choose how retrieval runs and how answers are generated. Modes compose — you can use them together.
Controls apply to both default Chat and Adaptive. They shape how this Space answers. Deep search only changes where retrieval looks.
Deep search
Deep search widens where retrieval searches. It searches across all your My Spaces — not only the Space you are currently in. Use it when the answer might live in another scoped Space.
Adaptive
Adaptive deepens how retrieval runs. Instead of a single lookup, it can search, open, and read across your Knowledge in several steps before answering — and produce a document you can download.
